PREAMBLE

The Karpagam Polytechnic College was established in October 1998 as a charitable institution with a prime ambition of affording opportunities to young men and women for equipping themselves to get employed and contribute to the technological development of the nation. The college is growing day by day and emerging as one of the ranking polytechnic institutions in Tamilnadu.

The college is located in a congenial atmosphere, about 10 km from Coimbatore city, spreading over 20 acres of sprawling campus on the Coimbatore-Pollchi main road at Eachanari. The college has an excellent infrastructure facilities like spacious buildings, fully equipped laboratories for each discipline, workshops, computer center with internet connectivity, and well-qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty.

The college offers three year Diploma Courses in various engineering disciplines with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education. These seven disciplines of diploma courses are affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education and training. Tamilnadu. They continue to attract leading companies to hold Campus recruitment regularly. In-plant training and Industrial visits are arranged for the students, and they are encouraged to participate in Technical Paper presentations in national and state level conference and seminars.

The college is blessed with abundance of other facilities and co- curricular and extra- curricular activities. It offers value added programmes which will enable the students to face the formidable challenges of the future.

To enhance and update the knowledge in their chosen field of studies, the faculty are encouraged to attend seminars, workshops, conferences and short-term courses. The management has also provided opportunities to the members of staff to pursue higher studies in their respective fields.

As a concern towards the community around us, with the assistance of Govt agencies the community development center offers various vocational training programmes with entreprenuership development programmes for the rural youth to be employed.

The Alumni involve in the developmental activities of the college and frequently interact with the current students for encouraging them to build up self confidence and suitable career.

The college is growing impressively over these years in reputation and has become the preferred choice of Diploma aspirants.

Karpagam Polytechnic College aims to produce quality diploma engineers by Providing Quality Education and Training in Technology through
i) upgrading of facilities, teaching-Learning process and human resources
ii) Continuing Education System to enable the students acquiring knowledge to meet the industrial and global needs
iii) Motivation and Encouragement in the participation of students and staff to build the reputation of the institution.

PRINCIPAL

Prof. P.T. Rajan, B.Sc., B.E., M.Tech., the Principal with 20 years of rich academic and administrative experience in Technical Education. He obtained his M.Tech. degree from the National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur. He was awarded Prizes for having guided best projects.
He has visited foreign countries for presenting papers in conferences and attending courses. He served as a committee member for International conferences and referee for International journals. As a guiding star, he steers the institution towards glorious future. His role in the development of the institution is quite laudable and worth emulating.

KAPSTECH
KAPSTECH, State Level Inter – School Science and Technology Exhibition is conducted every year jointly with Tamil Nadu State Council and Technology and National Council for Science and Technology Communication, New Delhi to encourage School Students to exhibit their projects

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Along with sports, other co-curricular and extra curricular activities, short-term and value added courses are imparted to the students during the vacation in every semester. The institute has the placement cell too, which interacts with the leading industries, arranges campus interviews and offer ample job opportunities to the students of all disciplines. Besides bestowing engineering knowledge, great emphasis is laid on building of character and discipline in students.
